Has anyone looked into syncing with Eight Sleep (smart mattress) to import sleep metrics? As far as I can tell, they don’t have a public API, and the only way to access your data is to request an email link for downloading user data. I have a support thread going with them where I have asked about an API, but I wanted to make sure I wasn’t duplicating someone else’s work…
I had a look at this. Clever idea to cool the mattress! Their iOS app says that it integrates with Health App which means you might be able to use the HealthFit app to get that data into Intervals.icu. Maybe the Android app uploads to GoogleFit? If it does then that would likely also work.
Good idea! I set it up to sync to Apple Health, installed Google Fit, and then set them all to sync from each other. It looks like it’s not pulling historical data, so I only have a couple of data points to look at for now. I have a request out to Eight Sleep to have them send me my historical data.
Note that the mattress will also heat up if desired. It actually creates a sleep profile where it heats/cools at different sleep stages and adjusts based on the quality of your sleep over time. It’s a cool idea, but the execution needs a bit more work. It would be awesome if they built in some support to know how your day went (or how your fitness is responding) and adjust the temp profiles accordingly, but that doesn’t appear to be a big priority for them. They do have some “sponsored athletes”, so maybe they’ll get feedback to steer them into that direction. I’ll do the analysis on my own for now…
