And if it does, what are the better options, if any?
Put another way, does recording data to major ecosystems (Garmin Connect, Polar Flow etc), and then exporting the activities, alter the data?
Thank you.

Some do, others don’t.
Those that I know:
From Intervals, you can equally download the original FIT file or a FIT with streams modified in Intervals. Those download-links are on the Activity Interval Data page.
If you upoad an activtiy to Garmin Connect, through a 3rd party app, eg. Zwift, then it won’t send to Intervals. However, if you manually upload that same file to Garmin Connect, eg. the Zwift copy that is saved in the activities folder on your computer, it will pass it through to Intervals.
. This is what I wanted to confirm.
Thank you both.
However RunGap will send my walks (Apple Watch) and weight lifting (HR data) to Garmin Connect, and then GC will send to Intervals, Strava, TrainingPeaks, etc. Not sure why it works, but it does.
RunGap like BreakAway, will fake the device the activity it was recorded on.
Reason I said that is because apparently it does that without the Fake option enabled.
or I don’t understand that option.
Without looking at the source FIT file that RunGap uploads. We won’t know for sure.
I’ve looked before, and again just confirmed that manufacturer is set to 255 (development) under File ID and Device Info messages.
