Do new FTP values update past workouts?

I’m not sure if this is a bug or if it’s by design, but I’m suspecting that past workouts created under previous FTP values have now intensity relative to the current FTP.

Take this workout from February 4th, which was planned at 68% intensity (206 NP, 196 avg). The workout is correctly marked as “indoor”. At the time, FTP was 273w. However, 206w is not 68% of 273w:

The session was executed exactly as planned, with the same duration, resulting in 204w NP and 194w avg. The intensity is correctly displayed as 74%:

On the following day, February 5th, the athlete’s FTP was updated to 300w after a virtual race. Those 206w from the previous day’s workout correctly correspond to 68% of 300w, but that FTP value should only apply from the next day onward.
Something that could help with this would be the following suggestion: when clicking on intensity, it could display “based on an FTP of X watts,” or something along those lines.

go to list view and add FTP as one of the columns.

It didn’t work. Everything is configured correctly. The workout was planned for 71 TSS and the activity ended up with 84 TSS, yet the compliance still shows 99%. Something isn’t right.

the FTP for that workout wasn’t shown? or something else?

You probably used absolute watts. This I think use always the configured FTP value, because of the possibility to reuse the workout (you don‘t know what FTP you might have in the future). So it shows the IF of your current settings.

I use relative watts and it always shows the correct IF, even after changing FTP.

That’s it. Not ideal, but not a big deal. At least now I know the cause and I’ll pay attention. Thanks for the help!
