Distance rounding problem in calendar view

Hi,

not a big deal, but a bit confusing so I thought worth mentioning: Distance in calendar view is obviously not rounded correctly (it is always rounded down).

This is a personal opinion, but in my view that’s more ‘correct’. When working out, I expect most people think of it as “whole kilometres completed”, so e.g. 11.8km is better seen as 11km rather than 12km. But I see the logic for normal rounding, too.

I assume when weekly totals etc. are calculated, the raw data is used, so you’re not losing a bit from each workout (?).

I haven’t viewed it that way, but agree could be personnel preference. I just got confused a couple times when I was looking for a specific activity that I vaguely remembered the distance of.

The weekly total are definitely calculated from raw data, so that does not concern me.

I just noticed that the calendar display does not seem to be totally consistent. Sometimes distance in calendar view is listed with a decimal.

Example: Intervals.icu

If the distance is less than 10km then it gets one decimal otherwise none. This is to try squeeze everything in especially on phones and so on. Even on my laptop with the window using 80% of the screen width it only just fits:

Ah OK, that makes a lot of sense.

Is the rounding down only also intentional?

Yes … if you didn’t ride 100km then it shouldn’t round up to that
