Disabling zeros in measured power

Tell me, is it possible to turn off the zeros on the website? I turned it off in my Garmin, I thought that if Garmin uploads training to the website, the data will be from it. But unfortunately, the website still takes it into account. And so my 2.5-hour training on Garmin was 268 watts, and the website calculated 254 watts. Is it possible to somehow turn off the zeros?

I’m not aware of any analytics platform that calculates power metrics without zeros.

Power metrics are intended to be calculated with zeros - coasting, sitting at stop lights - and you are recovering.

So in that sense it is unfortunate that Garmin allows turning it off.

Why do you want to inflate your actual power data?

Turning off zero´s on Garmin does not influence the recording, only the analysis. All power values will still be in the FIT file to allow correct analysis.
It is anyhow a very bad idea because doing that is cheating in its purest form.

Cases When ZERO should/Should not be taken into account

Cadence - Zero is to be ignored.
Why: Because this will show the actual cadence because it is the time you are actually pedaling

Power - Zero is to be included
Why: Invert to cadence, zero power numbers means that you are not exerting effort and averages / np are to reflect that based on the zero.

eg: You are going downhill, at the top of the hill, you exert 200w for 1s (to get going) then you coast for 3599secs. what would your average power? 200w?

If you want to get an idea of effort on the ride when only applying power to the pedals have a look at your kJ’s expended.
