Differences between training load in TrainingPeaks and Intervals.icu

Hi,

I’ve been using TrainingPeaks for several years but I’m now migrating everything to Intervals.

When creating new workouts, the Load is always lower than that calculated in TP.
For example in PT for a 60’ Z2HR training the planned load is 40TSS and an IF of 0.60.
In Intervals, the same training has a Load of 37 with the same intensity of 60%.

Is this difference normal, or am I missing something?

Are your zone ranges the same in both applications?
Z2 would take the mid-point for the range.

Check your maxHR vs Threshold HR settings too, in both applications.

Can you try putting in a Specific HR instead of Z2 for both TP and Intervals?

eg: 80% HR

cos Z2 is a range and typically intervals.icu uses the middle of the Range .

Edit: I just tried and seems like intervals.icu is calc 52 vs 60 for TP

This is AFTER setting threshold Pace for Run at 5:00min/km in TP to match w/ Intervals.icu

I don’t really run… so i don’t really have my setups sync’ed between the 2. You might want to play around w/ the pace settings as well.

HR Zones:

For both me and my athletes, there is always some difference despite having the zones equally defined.
Is it really supposed to be like that?
