Device name top of the right

Hello,

Today is the day to ask a question that I’ve had for several months,
Why on the top of the right, my devices are “Garmin Fenix6x, Connect, Edge 1030_plus, Garmin Fenix 6 Pro”.
My devices to run, bike and other sports are : a Fenix 6X Pro, a garmin HRM-Pro and.. that’s all!

Garmin device name description

It turns out that Garmin now supply a device name along with the activity from their API. Intervals.icu will now use this instead of the device name from the file. The Garmin supplied name seems more up to date. This will be deployed Thursday AM.

I think that both sources are now displayed as I also get my 840 twice.

Unfortunately sometimes the device name from the fit file is quite different to the name supplied by the Garmin API so Intervals.icu cannot merge them:

You end up with:

Garmin Fenix6x, Connect, Edge 1030 Plus, Fenix 6 Pro

I can’t do too much about that.

Could you add an option to edit the device name for the instances it pulls the incorrect one?

You can now bulk edit the device name using the activity list view. Use the filter options to find activities with the incorrect name and then do Edit → Edit and fill in the new name.
