Decoupling for running

Just an idea… Do you have some sort of Auto-Pause enabled on your recording device?

Hi Marco,

It looks like it must be something to do with the Garmin Laps not being recognised as intervals, I’m not totally sure, but try turning this setting on in your run settings if it is not already on.

If that doesn’t work, or you already have it on, I’ll have another look into it.

Yes @Adam_Donaldson I agree that it has to do with Garmin laps, but I have it already turned it on (otherwise it would not recognize the laps I guess). Also, this does not explain why when I move the intervals manually sometimes I have “Infinity”. Garmin laps work just fine with the decoupling in cycling. Thank you.

@Adam_Donaldson @david one more thing. As you can see from the attached screenshot, the setting “Use laps for intervals” is only available for riding. I have no idea if this may be the problem, but again, would I get the intervals recognized just fine with only the decoupling not working?

And that´s because you don´t have power zones set for running.

MedTech is correct here, set your FTP and for running and then you will be able to select the Use Laps for Intervals, which will fix that problem.

For the Inifinity values that sometimes occur, there must be an issue with the calculation when there are a certain number of data points, usually this indicates division by zero, I don’t really have time to debug this at the moment.

OK, thanks @Adam_Donaldson , but I don’t understand why I need to set my power zones for running if I don’t use (or don’t have) power to detect intervals as laps. Anyway, I just set a number and again the decopuling is not working on the first 2 laps, just the last one. I also now get the average lap power number I was not getting before even if the laps were correctly recorded. I am attaching the screenshots.
