Data gaps/missing on Activities uploaded from Wahoo

Sup guys. I’m seeing a frequent issues with my activities uploaded from Wahoo. Some data goes AWOL, even elevation data simply does not show on streams; it’s very random. Looking at other platforms (Strava/Wahoo itself/Cycling Analytics/TPeaks), I do not see such gaps. I’ve contacted Wahoo and provided them one of the .fit files for analysis and they have not found any inconsistence on data.

Ex:

We can’t acces any of your activities, so please post screenshots of your issue.

sorry about it, PFA screenshots.

hmm… very interesting… and you say the raw file (which you sent to Wahoo) does not have these issues?

If you upload them to like Strava / training peaks etc all is OK? only when it;s uplaoded to Intervals.icu?

May we have one of these FIT files?

Isn’t this simply Auto-pause from the device?
Intervals shows pauses, but not all apps do.

@app4g yes, correct; Wahoo claims no issues with .fit files. Strava/TPeaks/etc, all good. Here’s my today’s activity .fit: T37_25_Resistencia_100m.fit - Google Drive

@MedTechCD I don’t think it’s auto-pause, it wouldn’t crop elevation data as well, right? Taking today’s activity as example, I didn’t stop the bike, it’s 1h45m straight with coasting ~5%.

Auto-pause = no recording. All directly recorded streams are 0.
The more I look at it, the more I think it is that.

I don’t see any issues

Both Uploads to Intervals.icu and Garmin Connect shows the same “blank”
Raw File File also shows the “Gap” where the unit continues to record in the background

Event Info does not show any auto pauses

i don’t quite know how auto-pause functions and whether it still records any data in the background (eg: no HR but timestamp continues like the above)

Garmin connects the elevation points from the pause start to end. Intervals just shows the empty stream as 0.
During auto-pause or manual pause, most devices simply stop recording.

This is ride recorded on 2 Garmin. RED is with AutoPause turned on. The data stream

Auto Pause happened at 7:42:31 to 7:43:02. Nothing is recorded during that time into the FIT File. (no HR. No Power. No Speed. etc…)

Auto Pause also can be seen in the Event Info.

But I need to re-iterate. This is on a Garmin, not a wahoo unit so how they implement auto

Hence, based on this data. the Wahoo unit seems to have lost connection to sensors?

Thank you guys for taking time to look at this.

I was just analyzing my today’s activity .fit. It has an auto-pause for sure at 02m44s/06:04:27AM till 03m29s/06:05:22AM when I was passing thru home’s gate. It keeps recording everything this time and I see no data gaps on Intervals for this ride; as I said on first post, this is happening very randomly.

The only field that I see missing on this data snapshot is battery_soc, but it also shows missing on other parts of the file, don’t think it has anything with it.

seems the device is going ‘loco’ from times to times. Wahoo suggested a factory reset (their default solution for everything ), do you guys think it’s worth it? I’m really lazy about doing it, a lot to configure afterwards…

i had to factory reset my garmin watch a cople times too. yeah. troublesome to re-setup again.
