Hi,
I have a Concept 2 erg with PM5. Android phone running Ergdata uploads to C2 Logbook which then sends to Strava from where Intervals picks up the file.
Intervals is complaining that data is recorded at 3 second rather than 1 second intervals. It does look very “spiky” (small spikes )
Can anyone tell me if I can change this frequency and if so at which point of the data pass the parcel? I looked at Ergdata settings but couldn’t find anything there.
HI @Martin_Gill
I have started using this type of rowing machine at the gym and also see the same. I don’t think it is configurable however could be wrong. I did a quick search on the internet, but didn’t find any setting to change etc.
I just saw the same thing, and it’s very very strange what’s happening here.
Today I recorded only with ErgData which then sends the file to Garmin and Strava. As Garmin does not forward files uploaded by apps the data displayed at Intervals.icu is only the data received from Strava.
Looking at the Garmin site I can see that there are no spikes and looking at the Strava site there are these spikes. Intervals shows the same spikes.
So I tried to export the file from Garmin and upload it to Intervals - and suddenly the spikes were gone. OK I thought, then obviously Strava does something to the file - so I exported the original file from Strava and the original file from Garmin and they both were identical.
My idea is that Strava somehow changes the file and then only forwards the changed file to Intervals (instead of the original one) which results in these strange spikes.
I guess, there’s not much one could do about that.
One way to avoid those spikes for me, is to use my Garmin watch to record the rowing workout. This uploads a clean file without spikes.
Hi all, I just sent this message to both C2 support and ErgZone. Very interesting…
Good afternoon,
Does the PM5 record data every second? I have data synced to various platforms from LogBook and often see alerts suggesting the data is recorded at 3s intervals. I assumed this was the PM5. However, now I’m not so sure.
I’ve downloaded a FIT file from ErgZone, and this file has data recorded each second. What is weird is the same workout downloaded from logbook (after being pushed to logbook from ErgZone) shows data recorded at 3s intervals.
This suggests it might be LogBook applying some compression (removing data) rather than the PM5 recording at 3s intervals.
