Sorry, I know I’ve asked about this before, but I’m still confused. I’ve been using the power vs heart rate chart to compare my performance pre and post injury after breaking my pelvis last June. I’m pleased that the power is coming back, and I can see this in my power vs heart rate figures, but there’s a gap between pre and post injury in the space between 125 and 150 bpm. That’s fine, I can work on that, but what exactly that gap is reporting. I did an erg session on the turbo last week, and did 75 minutes steady at 208 watts, with an average bpm of 124. But when I look at the chart for 124 bpm post injury, it shows it matched against 169 watts, which is some way below the 208 average I did.
My question is: “What is this chart actually showing? Over what period of cycling time (i.e., 5 seconds? 30 seconds; 1 minute etc.?) is it comparing bpm vs power?”
Thanks
