Categories for actual events

Posting here as a potential feature request. I note that you can categorise future planned events, but is there a way to categorise actual events (as workouts, races etc). It would be good to colour code the headers of these so I can differentiate the activities in Calendar view?

You should be able to edit the events and change the category to “Race A”, “Race B”, “Race C” or “Workout”. Races get the reddish header colour.

Should? I’ve checked in both Opera and Chrome. Am I looking in the wrong place ?

Hmm. You need to click on the event and then choose “Edit” at the bottom of the dialog. This should let you change the category.

I think he means that you would be able to do this on events that already happened? If they’re marked ‘race’ on Strava, they will show up (red), but if you didn’t and want to add a (race) category on intervals.icu, how to do that? I don’t see that possibility either…

I only see edit data on activities. I can do this for future planned events, but I cannot make a race a race for an actual activity.

That’s what I though you meant - you can still mark it as a race on Strava, but of course, they have only 1 category…

Ah I get it now. Currently you have to mark those as races in Strava. Do you want to be able to use race A/B/C etc.?

My takeaway from this is that I should probably not comment if I’m not being asked - duly noted

  1. It would indeed be good to be able to classify actual activities more finely. Would it be possible to simply provide the same options as for planned workouts?

  2. Can we, you @David ;-), add another category for “performance tests”, i.e., FTP tests and similar – which I would envision to have a similar dot on the Fitness chart as races using a different color

Overall, we could have dots in
dark red –> A race
light red –> B race
orange –> C race
yellow –> FTP (performance) test

I plan to add “tags” to activities and the tags can have settings like “plot dot on fitness line” and so on as well as being use for filtering.
