Hello David,
I use Google calendar sync to overlay my non-training & family events on top of my training calendar, helping me plan. This is very useful.
Some (planned) activities are however auto-created from the calendar, triggering on some words (events containing “run”, “row”, create future activities). This can be noisy (i imagine that a “grocery run” event might auto-create an event). In general I don’t use Google calendar to plan my training, all data is in intervals.icu ; so I’d prefer ignoring “training”-like events in my sync’ed calendar.
I would like to:
- Disable planned training autocreation when adding calendars to synchronize.
- In fact, ideally I’d like most calendar events to be sync’ed as “Notes”, probably without showing them on the fitness chart. But the current “Planned workout” type also works.
- I suppose that if you wanted to make the feature fancy/generic, you could possibly have a dialog letting users select which activities to auto-infer from sync’ed calendars.
As a note: I’ve noticed that if you put activity-like syntax in external calendar event descriptions ("- 60m Z1-Z2 pace Z2 HR") it creates the correct activity plan in intervals.icu. This is nice, but not easy to discover. Consider a tool-tip somewhere in the calendar sync UI to explain?
Thanks a lot!
