Bottom of Zone 1

I’m new to this platform, so sorry if this is a n00b question, but…

Why does “Z1 HR” result in “95-119bpm”? Shouldn’t it be “0-119?”
Why is the bottom of Z1 50% of Max HR? Is that a setting we can tweak?

I know I could type in the HR range values manually, but that’s not ideal because when HR zones change the workouts won’t automatically update.

Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

Certainly not the answer you’re looking for, but here’s an anecdote. Once, a coach told me something along the lines of: “Zone 1 has a floor because it’s a training zone, not a resting zone, and certainly not a deceased zone”.

So yes, it makes sense that the zone doesn’t start at your resting HR, let alone at zero. It’s a zone that represents a person during activity, even if at a very light effort.

I don’t disagree that there could/should be a floor.
It’s just too high for what it is.

This is literally a dog walk on my day off training, so the pace is slow and when the terrain is flat I’ll stay below 95bpm most of the time.

It just doesn’t make sense that we can’t change it…

Make custom zones like this

And use them when creating a workout

Hopefully you don’t see 0 on your HRM too often…
