I’ve been a happy Intervals user for a while now, but I have not been doing anything particularly complex when it comes to integrating it with other platforms. I’ve been doing manual workouts without ERG and I just have my Assiomas record to Garmin → Garmin uploads to Intervals.
I just got a Zwift Ride frame with a Kickr Core 2 trainer and I’m trying out MyWhoosh, using the QZ app for virtual shifting. It’s pretty fun!
Now, I’m wondering what the best way to aggregate all of the data is?
With MyWhoosh/Zwift/TPVirtual you get certain metrics, like the elevation-related ones that you wouldn’t get with using your Garmin only. Then, some metrics on Garmin won’t show on the MyWhoosh workout, like ConnectIQ data fields. So you need to decide what is important to you, and use that platform/application.
For me, my virtual workouts go to Strava, and the Garmin workouts are synced to Intervals, TrainingPeaks/WKO5 and a few other applications.
Strava uploads to Intervals, but gets auto-deleted by the Garmin file. It unfortunately isn’t merged, as that would be ideal to get all data into one fit file. There are other applications that can merge fit file data, eg. gotoes (requires an annual donation).
Intervals will automatically prioritize any other instance of the same activity over the Strava one. That’s only for Strava! If you have duplicates from other sources, you have to delete manually. The List view with filters is a major help to do that.
