Hi, I have completed a set of 8x800m intervals and reviewed the data in both Garmin Connect and Intervals.icu. There are significant difference in the “Avg Pace” field in Garmin Connect and the “Pace” field in Intervals.icu. This pace is shown as slower in Intervals.icu by between 2 and 25 seconds with most being double digit differences.
Am I comparing the right fields? Or is there a difference in calculation?
Intervals uses total distance and total elapsed time from the interval to calculate average pace. If you show the distance column too and calculate from those, the result will be the pace shown.
I don’t know if Garmin maybe uses the speed stream and averages it?
And I vaguely remember something about Garmin laps where start and end times are cut and not rounded. But that alone could only make maximally 2 second difference.
