Any way to ignore 0s in a line graph

I have line graphs included my fitness page for Recovery HR and Resting HR (from Garmin). The recovery HR is not always populated, depending on device, it seems that Edge devices rarely populate it and they frequently send 0 instead.

The makes the line graph difficult to read as it’s constantly dropping down to 0, is there any chance of a ‘ignore 0’ setting for line graphs?

There is an option to set the default resting heart rate under settings. That will populate it with a default value if none is provided by your devices.

Thanks, that will work for Resting Heart Rate but not recovery…

It’s not 100% clear what the exact procedure is:

  • Edge devices will record Recovery HR only if you leave them running 2 minutes (could be 1 min, not clear) after you have stopped. If you stop your ride right after the finish line, it will not have the recovery HR.
  • Some say, you can stop the ride but need to wait 2 minutes before saving it, which would give the Edge the time to save the HR after 2 min to the FIT file.
  • Some say, Edge detects the movement stop and then takes HR after 2 min stopped
  • Others use the pause function. Device pauses when movement is stopped and records HR 2 minutes into the stop.

Watches work differently for this aspect:

You should experiment a bit with your specific Edge device and give feedback when you find out how it exactly works.

For ignoring empty values, maybe try using ‘Fill in’. If the field is empty, it should fill in last value. But I’m afraid that 0 will still be considered 0…
