If you are a cyclist who uses intervals.icu and you want to analyze your blood glucose alongside your other cycling metrics, GluKaMon is now available and compatible with intervals.icu. GluKaMon is a free CGM companion app for the Hammerhead Karoo cycling computer. Designed and built by cyclists with diabetes, GluKaMon streams continuous glucose monitor (CGM) readings directly to your Hammerhead Karoo cycling computer, so you can monitor your glucose conveniently while riding. GluKaMon also records glucose results to the “glucose” field in a standard FIT file, which can be read by intervals.icu
“Glucose awareness is critical when you’re doing a long ride or just riding hard, but checking your phone while riding isn’t safe, and it isn’t practical” said Brennan Carley, creator of GluKaMon. “I also wanted to analyze my glucose levels alongside metrics like speed, cadence, power, and heart rate, so I can better understand how exercise affects my blood glucose. I built GluKaMon because I wanted to monitor my glucose levels while riding and analyze it after a ride, and now I am sharing that with other riders for free.”
GluKaMon is a companion to your existing CGM app, not a replacement. All clinical and therapeutic decisions should be made based on the rider’s primary CGM system, blood glucose meter, and physician.
GluKaMon is not affiliated with intervals.icu. It is an independently developed app that can delivered data using standard FIT files for analysis by intervals.icu.
GluKaMon is available now. Setup instructions and documentation are available at GluKaMon.com
