Additional or different units

I’m wondering if you can switch or add an option to allow for running cadence to be in strides per minute (double the rpm). That’s the format for Garmin and it’s what I’ve seen used for training advice (e.g., keep your cadence above 180).

I’m wondering the same for pacing for rowing. The standard appears to be pace/500m not per km.

This is a feature request because I’m sure there are lots people who prefer or are used to rpm for running cadence and pace/km for rowing.

You can set the pace units per sport in /settings:

I have added “Use strides per minute for running cadence (2 x rpm)” to the todo list. Its not easy to do because cadence (rpm) appears all over the place (e.g. in interval fields etc.).

Just wanted to bump this as I’d love to have “correct” running cadence rather than the half-cadence currently. Changing the threshold pace units to per 500m doesn’t seem like a solution because it will affect all other threshold things won’t it?

Yes changing the pace units won’t help.

Hi David,
any progress on the rpm / cadence topic?
Kind regards,

Not yet but someone has created a custom field. Click “Custom” under the activity timeline chart and then search:

it seems to me, this custom chart is not available anymore. At least I can’t find it nor duplicate it.

I can see it. You need to do click “Custom” under the activity timeline chart and the the “Search Field” button at the bottom of the dialog.

I’m also hoping we’ll see Garmin-style running cadence graphs available here anytime soon.

the post above shows how you can get it. Or perhaps misunderstanding your request? you want running cadence in the form of 180spm instead of 90spm right?

excactly - same representation as within Garmin.
When I add the “Run Cadence” unter Custom I only get a Field of average Cadence and no graph - or do I overlook something?

Charts menu - Custom Streams - Search Stream and add Run Cadence
Then create a new chart with that Custom Stream or add the Custom stream to one of your other charts where you want Run Cadence displayed.
