80/20 polarized training chart

Hi,

The 80/20 polarized training is the sum of time spent in specific zones. As far as I know, 80% of training takes place in HR zones 1 and 2, and 20% in HR zones 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 (Joe Friel).

I would like to create a chart showing two combined zones: zone 1 (HR 1 + 2) and zone 2 (HR 3+).

Unfortunately, when creating the chart, there is no option to select the sum of zones HR 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7.

How can I create a chart showing 80/20 polarized training?

It isn’t. 80/20 is based on number off sessions.

When it comes to cycling training, the idea is that your weekly training should consist of 20% high intensity HR 4+ and 80% low intensity HR 1+2.

It also depends on volume (duration and frequency), so there’s no one size fits all. And are you using power or HR?

You can use the chart that sums Z1+2, Z3 and Z4+. Look for the chart from Pedro Silva

Never mind the rules of polarized training. How can I create the chart I asked about in my first post?

I’m using HR and I already have a chart with 3 segments like HR 1+2, HR 3+4 and HR 5+

This explains the default zone system in Intervals

But, fairly new, there are now also Custom Zones.

Regarding Polarized zones, use any rules you want, I just don’t want the wrong ones to be posted without correction.

OK, so maybe you can tell me what is the intervals.icu definition of Polarizde treining in percentages? What are the percentage ranges in zones S1, S2, and S3?

In Intervals S1 is Z1 and Z2
S2 is Z3 and Z4
S3 is anything above Z4

Yes I know but intervals.icu summarize the entire week and assign it a specific type of overall training. I wonder what the percentages of zones S1, S2, and S3 would look like for a week of polarized training.

Just below is a link to a page that explains the classifications.

I found it, thanks
