3 minute SFT (Submaximal Fatigue Test)

Lots of good stuff on Twitter today!

Hi David, I’ve been thinking about this type of tests for a while.

This may be a feature request, but I’ve been looking at the “Intervals” feature to compare intervals, and I was thinking that it would be great to have an option to compare only this type of tests.

For example, whenever I do a test like that, I could call that interval “SFT”, and then filter all the intervals named “SFT” to compare them.
This could also be used for other submax tests, such as the LSCT, or even workouts (all work intervals in a workout which has “8 min FTP” in the name could be compared, for example).

Semi related to this topic, on tracking improvements in testing/intervals.

I think it would be great to have the possibility to change the variable in the Y axis of the interval comparison tool.

Having simple things such as HR, or pace (for running or swimming).

But also more “complex” metrics, such as Power/Hr ratio, or Pace/HR ratio.

And being able to filter also by HR or by pace (for running).

Please let me know if you think it’s better to start a new feature request post for this, first day posting on the forum and I may not be getting things right.

I have revamping that page on the todo list. It was one of the first things I built and very much in need of attention. Still thinking about how best to do that. It is already possible to name intervals and put tags in the names of activities so lots can be done.

There is a very simple thing you can try, use a scale from 0 to 2, 0 being that you don’t feel like training, 2 being that you are motivated. Check if you train with the perception of 0 if the training has been done correctly.

Intervals.icu has a Motivation wellness data metric for tracking it against things like EF, subjective fatigue, etc. (It’ll be easier to visualise once the invers graphing issue is fixed.)

so, if I name some intervals “SFT” how do I go about comparing them? or is that even possible at this point?

thanks

+1 on this being a feature request.

I have added two wellness fields for this Submaximal Fatigue Test and Submaximal Fatigue Test (RPE) as this seems the easiest way of tracking this for the time being.

It would be nice to have automatic tracking and detection of an SFT interval in all activities but it still needs rider input for the RPE so I guess this is as good a compromise as any for the time being.
