We need to wait what @david will do to support in-stroke data, if he wants to do that.
Donāt cycling power meters provide similar data?
Good suggestion. Changed to use that, updated the docs.
I have sent you and David an email with some ideas on how to continue supporting a course library for CrewNerd.
On another note, in CrewNerdās FIT export you use the Developer Fields āCheckā, āBounceā, and āStroke Lengthā. What are your thoughts about the proposed Developer Fields above?
Thanks, @Sander_Roosendaal - the fields above look good. My ācheckā and ābounceā fields are unique to CrewNerd, but I could change my āStroke Lengthā (currently Float32) to use your StrokeDistance field instead.
FYI, I have summarized the migration status to Rowsandall.com users here: Update on Rowsandall to Intervals.icu migration ā Rowing Analytics
Hi all,
- https://rownative.icu/ is now open for beta testing. It can already calculate time on course for your rowing workouts on intervals.icu. Itās a beta, so subsequent releases may destroy your data on intervals.icu (recorded course times and new courses). Please all give this a good test drive. Contributors to code development and maintenance are also welcome.
- In the background I am discussing with rowing software and hardware vendors to align on the FIT developers fields, to create a stable situation before David implements any developer fields. This will likely take a few weeks.
Hi @Sander_Roosendaal Iāve updated our fit-writer to include the developer fields (all other fields we already sent in). As it is in the total āOpenRowingMonitor 0.9.7ā package, it will become our main branch in two weeks (aiming for an early April release). As the update is pretty big already, I donāt want to postpone that any further.
If someone has a valid Garmin developer UID, we could even define the fields at Garmin, making them usefull across the board (theyāll show up as Garmin IQ fields).
Only challenge is (as expected) the Force Curve. As I have some other issues open at our upstream dev that I do want to inject in 0.9.7 before release, I donāt want to put too much pressure on that yet.
One of my priority favourites is NK import and export/upload to C2. Please - if possible - do not forget that export.
Hi @Sander_Roosendaal I uploaded a fit-file to github, containing all fields named above, including force curves. It contains quite elaborate summaries as well, preventing manual post-processing, as this goes pretty badly on rowing data.
Thank you. I hope to get some response from the rowing community in the coming weeks. I am also considering if we should keep the āin-strokeā data part of the FIT standard discussion open longer but already settle for other custom developer fields.
Status update: We are testing rowing courses sharing and online course-based rowing challenges on rownative.com, which is Open Source, community driven and links to your account on intervals.icu. CrewNerd is testing their side of the API.
And another status update. I just got an email from NK
Sorry itās taken me so long to get back to you on this. I think itās a great idea to try to standardize for compatibility across platforms, and obviously NK should be a participant in the standards.
Iāve taken an initial look through your documentation. I think youāre in as good a position as anyone to have a comprehensive view of the fields and parameters. I donāt have any immediate feedback on what youāve already put in place. I do, however, expect that additional fields will emerge over the coming years. It seems it should be simple to expand the standard as necessary.
So in summary, weāre in!
I have created an account on intervals.icu without any data. I want to get my rowsandall data over. Will that happen automatically or will I need to take an action, and if so what and when?
Working on that in the background. Weāre trying to establish a standart FIT format with the rowing community to make it low risk for intervals.icu to implement. Standards are slow ⦠But rest assured, there will be an export before the end of the year.
