That is very much in progress! But it is a huge hit for all the smaller devices. Just integrating with Strava is no longer enough.
Ive already dropped my strava sub because I have all options here with access to much more data.
Would be nice though to add some social aspect to the site, so the home is not the calender but a dashboard of friend activities. And then invite all Strava users here
Just cancelled my Strava Premium. Ain’t having any of that.
Two questions.
Firstly, It seems I have set up sync both from Garmin Connect and Strava. So those ride recorded via Garmin Edge and sync’ed via Garmin Connect will stay?
Secondly, I think my Zwift rides are recorded in Zwift and sync’ed from Zwift to Strava and then onto Intervals. I would
A) Need to upload the files directly
B) Use the Zwift - Intervals integration instead
Do I get this right?
Just watched this. The final clause about doing any analysis with the data is concerning. Is there anything you can do with data that comes to intervals via strava now? Seems crazy!!
Also a big hit for veloviewer particularly when you log in to veloviewer using your strava account.
I’m also assuming we shouldn’t be doing anything in EnDuRA with data we’ve pulled from intervals that’s come via strava. Probably best I just turn off the strava option on that api process!
As someone else mentioned though, strava could end up leaving a big hole here for you to fill . Now if you could just implement route planning
Is the API of intervals affected? So if I have strava rides, can I still access these rides via API? And could third party apps still access the strava activities via API of intervals?
I thought I’d cleared all my Strava-sourced activities, but seems I was wrong. After filtering on Source = Strava, I highlighted all (in list view), then Edit > Download fit files (zip folder) and imported back to Intervals. Took me less than 10-minutes (without actually timing it). All now show Upload or Garmin Connect
Watched this and finally cancelled my subscription … of the “premium” features the route planner was the only feature I really used. And even that they screwed up lately. I can spend that money on much better tools.
Does intervals prioritise Wahoo rides over the same Strava ride like it does with Garmin?
Hey!
So I‘m currently trying to figure out if there is any way for my girlfriend (who I coach) to still get her files on here with me being able to see it.
She uses a Karoo → No integration to intervals.icu
Is this maybe coming? I‘ve seen Karoo does support a number of other services.
She also rides on MyWhoosh → No integration…
Is this coming?
I was trying to figure out a workaround using HealthFit. So Strava → HealthFit → Intervals
But for some reason the files HealthFit gets from Strava don‘t have power data. Does anyone know of a fix for that?
Edit: And also just to add to what the other people are saying. If you @david were to fix this problem of being the datahub, both my girlfriend and me would happily pay for this service on here.
So far we always thought Strava was this service and I was always happy because I thought I‘ll always have all the files on there forever and could happily sync those to other platforms, when I use those. With Strava not providing this service anymore, it‘s basically completely useless.
I suppose I‘ll download the file package from Strava, once you provide the integration thing and at least have all the historical data on here for both my girlfriend and myself.
Fingers crossed all the other issues my girlfriend will have with MyWhoosh and the Karoo will be fixed by then. Because otherwise she‘d probably just have to manually upload the files on here, which is utterly ridiculous in 2024
what will happen if I untick “keep non-Strava…” and tick “Update Strava names…”?
in such a case, will a name change in Strava be reflected in icu, or is the “Update” one dependent on “keep…in sync”?
and as always, thank you so much for all your work @david!
If you think about it, we are in 2024 and we have no reliable data log, especially one dedicated solely to that purpose: storage and hub. All our training history is on platforms that either: a) think they own our data, b) want to implement AI solutions at all costs, or c) are just bad (like Training Peaks). I understand this is expensive—storage is costly—not to mention development. I’d rather pay for a reliable data log/hub than keep paying for Strava!
As a full-time professional coach who has been making a living from this work for over 10 years, these implementations are alarming and deeply concerning. I don’t rely solely on Intervals for my services—I use other platforms too—but I do use Intervals for certain purposes. I know many coaches who depend entirely on Intervals for their work. Honestly, I don’t understand how other coaches aren’t freaking out about this situation. Sure, “get the data directly from the source,” you say. But here, a significant portion of athletes use devices like IGPsport, Bryton, Xoss, Magene, etc. Good luck trying to get training files from those athletes without Strava’s help!
Did the names of the activities stay the same? I wouldn’t want to default to names like “Lunch Ride”.
Hi there!
If I tick this box, will rides from Zwift that are synced to Garmin keep going to Intervals? Currently they get here via Strava (obvies).
Will there be integration for hammerhead/karoo?
Hi Luca,
I use a Karoo as well and sync my data via Suunto as described here: [SOLVED] Hammerhead to Intervals.icu (Use Suunto as middleman) - #5 by David_Bonnett
It works well and brings through all the fields that I use, including L/R power balance from my Favero pedals.
Take a look at my reply to Luca’s question re: Karoo that went up as you posted
They’ll cut themselves in the fingers. If they are not providing this service, somebody else will.
What’s do you like about its route planner?
I mainly use plotaroute.com (since I don’t have Strava premium anyways) and have found it to be pretty good. (And then import it into Garmin Connect)
I’m think possibly Healthfit will also get an email same as David from Strava.
Maybe RunGap too.
