Are you planning to add specific power zones for running? For example Jim Vance’s 7 zones?
At this moment there are 2 presets:
- same as cycling
- Joe Friels running zones
If you can point @david to some other “standard”, I’m sure he will gladly implement.
The percentages compared to those of Coggan for cycling are very different, for now I have set them by myself. Obviously it’s not a problem, I just think it’s a good implementation.
great!! I have set the zones, but I cannot assign the new zones for the old workouts. I’ve tried both single workouts and settings with all workouts.
How did you try do that exactly? There are several ways to apply zones to existing workouts.
I tried both by updating the zones from the single workout, and by setting up all workouts. In both cases he did not update the zones to me.
Hmm I downloaded your data to my laptop, changed your running zones to “Jim Vance”, went to a recent run on the calendar and did Actions → Update zones and it worked?
That of 5 February has the zones updated because I loaded it after having changed the zones, but all the other previous ones, unfortunately, have not been updated with the new zones.
I just updated the 24th of Jan one on my laptop. I deleted a couple of the zones to make the change very clear:

Must be something a bit different going on?
In fact on Jan 24 still has ftp set to 300w (Z2 - 241 / 264w). While on February 5th she is the only activity with ftp upgraded to 320w (Z2-257 / 281w), as she was uploaded after upgrading ftp to 320w. Is it possible to update all the old running activities with the new 320w ftp?
Thanks to the availability’
Go to List view in the calendar, filter for running, check the activities you want to modify and click on Edit at top of the page to modify FTP for those selected.
Very good! By updating the FTP from the list view the zones are updated !! Unfortunately I point out that nothing happens from the single activity and from the settings panel. Thank you
Aha, you are missing the point here!
When updating FTP, the zones are not changing, only the values relative to FTP. When changing the zones, FTP is not changing, only the relative percentages.
If you want to do this on a single activity, you first have to update the FTP of that activity at the top right of the activity page. If you changed the zones setting and clicked Update Activities, it should be OK. Or if you did not click that button, you can go to the bottom of the activity page and choose Actions - Update Zones.
Good. So I guess once the FTP and zones are reset, all stress load values are also recalculated? Thank you.
