I have started working on a version of this. You can flag a note as “For week”. Then if the screen is wide enough it shows up on the right hand side of the calendar.

I like this because the notes are still there for narrower screens.
You will be able to click in the notes column to create a new week note. Will probably default those to go on Monday.
