This level of strength training integration is right now only possible with Apple Watch. I’ve submitted MyTrainPal for access to Coros API, if they provide enough information I can add support for it in the future.
i use coros training hub to create my own workout (i have a coach) and i push my workouts to intervals.icu, unfortunately i can’t push the planned workouts but just those i have done.
Maybe could be usefull to synch your calendar and therefore the intervals one with the coros hub for planned workouts
Thank you, I’ll post an update here when it’s ready.
Keep track of training and race fueling with MyTrainPal
This new update to the app brings more advanced nutrition/fueling features that are tightly connected to AI coach to help you achieve the best results on the race day.
1. For each session system calculates nutrition targets based on session length and intensity.
2. You can configure your nutrition library with Gels, Drinks etc. Or like in my case I’ve put there my bike hydration system.
3. Later you can log in what you consumed from the activity page
4. AI assistant has all that information available to itself
5. You can configure your fueling preferences to adjust the system recommendations
I hope you’ll like this new features, if you have any questions/ideas please let me know.
Cheers
Hi everyone,
Quick update: not a new feature this time, but something that makes every feature better.
Over the past few weeks I’ve been working on the backend and managed to significantly reduce the token usage for each task — around 20-50% less credits per request, with no drop in response quality.
Why should you care? Because I’m not pocketing those savings, they’re going straight back into your subscription:
- More messages per month
- More headroom for heavier tasks, like full plan generation or weekly assessments
- Faster responses as a side effect
Nothing changes on your end, no action needed — the new limits are already live. You’ll simply be able to chat with your coach more before hitting the cap.
As always, let me know if anything feels off.
Cheers,
Krzysztof
Continuing on the quality of life improvements:
- Typing stays fast and smooth even in long conversations, so you can keep the thread going without lag.
- Coach instructions are more concise, leading to even lower credit usage, especially as conversations get longer.
- The coach can now keep track of much longer threads without losing context or hallucinating.
Using this opportunity I want to also thank all people that help me improve MyTrainPal by using the recently introduced feedback feature on the chat window!
Hello, I am a new user of mytrainPal, and it’s very interessing and help me to improve my health and performance.
I have a question, i use the free actually, and we have 1000 points. When the number 1000 is finish, at the new month, it begins from 0 and we can use 1000 new points, or we need to buy 1000, or we need to have a monthly payment? Thank for your response, and good job for this application.
Hi, welcome aboard! Thanks for trying out the app, happy to see it helps you with your goals.
Initial credits are there to allow new users to test the app, treat it as a trial. Later you can subscribe and the cost of the subscription essentially covers your AI usage. It’s actually a great point you brought up, that the app should explain this when you register and receive these credits.
Today’s update introduces a feature suggested by one of our users.
The Coach Insight button has been part of the app since its early days, providing a quick overview of your current readiness and other key signals. It can now also recommend adjustments to your workouts based on what your body is telling you.
This update does not fundamentally change how you use the app. Similar guidance is still available through the chat window or scheduled prompts. Coach Insight simply offers a faster and more convenient way to access it, one that I believe most users will appreciate.
Hi Krzysztof,
thanks for developing the app - I tested some intervals.icu / AI enriched trainer apps and I like MyTrainPal the most so far. It’s not overloaded with crazy features but keeps the process of training planning neat and clear.
Usually, I go into a scheduled conversation planning my upcoming week with running sessions for my marathon goal.
I have now spent my free budget and consider buying an abo or additional credits and would like to know your comments on a few questions before doing so:
- Is there an overview of the knowledge the AI stores about me, my plans and my data? Or is this knowledge just retrieved from every chat’s content?
Example: I train for a marathon of 3:30h with 4 days of availability and set that up in the initial conversation. If I change that goal now though one chat, this will be confirmed and also probably updated for all upcoming chats as well (didn’t try). Same goes for certain unavailability periods I mention, like a 3-week vacation in August. I know that in a chat context this knowledge is considered for planning - but is this also valid for every upcoming chat?
Probably yes, but is there a general system prompt that I can see / modify storing all that information (like goal, availability, fitness, injuries, which plan I use, …) or is everything managed in the background using my synched data and chat’s conversation only?
I just read again your first post and it basically says it’s “chat first”, but I think to gain trust and transparency, an overview page would be great! - I regularly experience bugs in chats, like graphics not beeing rendered and only the code is displayed or trainings not updated from a conversation.
While this is not a huge setback and I can usually fix this after a few iterations, this still consumes my credit count - which is quite a pity since it is limited and not my fault. - Just a note, also contemplating the previous post in regards to cost: While the inital post says “free”, this only covers the first extra 500 credits. After that, you have to stock up or buy a monthly subscription, right? The 500 free tokens don’t refresh each month (at least the german translation is a bit misleading since “Plan” credits belong to the subscription credits), right?
Thanks for taking your time to answer my questions & developing this app ![]()
BTW: Anyone wants to exchange referral codes?
Hi Tim,
First of all, thanks for time to write your feedback, really appreciate it.
I’ll start with the answer for your last point. Since the first post there were couple of approaches that I explored with the free access and it eventually landed at a bigger one-time allowance. It is better for both sides because new user can explore the app more freely and decide if they like it, an I can manage the costs better.
I’m fine loosing some money on this project, but free monthly credits were starting to be a real issue when user base grew to thousands, and small monthly credits quota didn’t really allow to use the app as intended.
Is there an overview of what the AI knows about me?
There is not yet a dedicated overview page, but the information is stored persistently rather than being limited to a single chat.
Whenever you share something that may remain relevant, such as your 3:30 marathon goal, your four available training days, an injury, or a three week vacation in August, the coach saves it as an athlete fact in your personal memory.
When you update a goal or preference in any conversation, the stored information is updated as well. This means the change will apply to future conversations, not only to the current chat.
Until a dedicated overview page is available, you can ask the coach, “What do you know about me?” It will show the information it has stored, including your goals, availability, injuries, and preferences.
You can also ask it to update or forget specific information using normal language. The coach will confirm when the requested change has been made.
Bugs consuming credits
I am consistently working on improvements to make the chat experience more reliable and user friendly. Several existing users are helping me test these changes, and I am making good progress.
Thank you for letting me know that you lost credits because the experience in some cases wasn’t as it should. I have reset your usage, so all of your initial credits are now available to you again.
Due to the growing number of customization options, the settings page has been reorganized for easier navigation.
Let me know if anything remains hard to find or unclear. Thanks!
Bit of feedback having signed up to pro.
It’s seems that it doesn’t sync FTP updates on intervals and zones on intervals.
An example, intervals has ftp at 229w and app at 230w, not the end of the worls but doesn’t match, Intervals has slightly customs zones so app doesn’t, ask it to and it fixed it but that’s a watse of credits. Bigger issue, times in zones in app is using a completly different zone zone model 7 vs 6, I told th coach and shared a screenshot, it then change my zones to match, the opposite of what I wanted, after some back and forth I now have a chart and zones that all match intervals. God know how many credits I burned getting this correct.
If you are going to limit credits, then I should only have to use to discuss training and not setup the app and fix UI issues.
It also built a plan with TSS targets, built the workouts for the week which then came in under TSS, I pointed this out then it upped the Z2 intensity a bit and overshot the TSS, surely it’s not hard to at least make the workouts hit the prescribed TSS by adjusting the Z2 by a few watts?
on the plus side a I do like having an iOS app so that Applehealth data syncs with me having to send to intervals with Healthfit as a bridge and getting sleep score BUT HRV should be average (single figure swings wildly) and why not SO2 and RR as well.
Actually the more I look at HRV the more it’s no use in the app. See images.
App, thinks high of 334 and low of 62, whereas Apple health uses averages and has a usable trend line.
If you look at the data Apple records it could be a single figure that goes to the app that could be as high as 164 or as low as 37 in the space of 30 minutes so it’s pot luck what gets sent to the app?
Hi Jamie,
I always appreciate constructive feedback. When I heard that you had lost some credits while configuring your account, I went ahead and reset your usage for the current billing period.
Thanks as well for pointing out the issue with importing FTP changes from Intervals into MyTrainPal. I usually update FTP in the opposite direction, so I hadn’t come across this problem myself. I’ve identified the issue, and it should be fixed within the next few days.
Regarding HRV, the average reported by the Apple Watch isn’t necessarily ideal for this purpose because measurements can be taken at random times throughout the day. As a result, they may be influenced by whatever activity you happen to be doing when the watch takes a reading, making them less representative of your actual recovery state.
That’s why the app uses a reading taken around the morning as the most reliable indicator for recovery purposes. Feedback on this approach has generally been very positive among people using the app.
That said, I’m open to making this behavior configurable in the app settings. Would you prefer to use the overnight average, the whole-day average, or perhaps another approach?
Best,
Krzysztof
Thanks for the reply and the credits, not sure if you’re aware but if you enable Afib tracking on the Apple watch it takes as many measurements throughout the night as it does fro HR and does therefore give a very good average HRV rather than one random one in the morning.
Both Bevel and Athlytic recommend turning it on to get good HRV data - I have been using bevel for years and it’s fantastic at HRV and recovery.
I’m a bit of data geek and have built my own ai coach which is still operational, but wanted to try someone else’s and I like yours. I’ll give more feedback as I use it if that’s okay.
Sure, all feedback is welcome and greatly appreciated.
I’ve already added your HRV improvement suggestion for the iOS app to my list. If you come across any other areas that could be improved, feel free to share them here.
Thanks,
Krzysztof
Great thanks - keep up the good work ![]()
Hey again.
Not sure what going on here but my web app has 6 zones that are wrong and mobile app 7 which are correct, burning through token again trying to fix it.
Coach says it’s a setting but I don’t believe it is and actually knows my correct zones?
EDIT: After a load of chat the chart is fixed now. Not sure I should have to do that though.
Hi,
Thanks for feedback.
I see your zones got updated in the system today, it’s a result of a couple of fixes around synchronization of sport settings from intervals that I rolled out today. The old zones you’ve seen in the Web app were probably the result of the stale cache.
Going forward it should be all good, but of course please let me know if you will notice anything out of sync.
Hi everyone,
I’m looking for a few volunteers who would like to test a new AI model. You can expect deeper analysis and more accurate coaching.
I’ve also prepared a few coupons for free AI credits for anyone willing to help with testing and share feedback.
If you’re interested, please send me a DM and I’ll set up your account with the new model.
Cheers,
Krzysztof
