I don’t think my original question was really addressed: has anything actually changed in the past week that could explain the drop in quality I’m experiencing, or am I just running into existing limitations more?
I’m trying to understand whether this is a temporary regression or the current baseline, since I don’t recall it being this unreliable before. I found it much more helpful at creating correct workouts earlier.
Anyway, I’m hoping this improves again soon.
Who owns my data as hr, hrv, sleep data etc?
@Kasper_Kristensen depends on the T&C of where you uploaded it from (garmin/strava etc. etc.). In my eyes it’s the user - but I’ll probably get shot by the big dogs for saying that! haha
@Knut_Petter_Svendsen wrt your question - maybe not answered. Yes something changed - we landed a month of work on the new workout planning, but it’s not what people are after, so I’m again working to remove it.
It wad more in regards to when i use your ai, and permit access to my intervals.icu data, can it be used by the ai in other regards?
Thanks
@Kasper_Kristensen I guess my previous answer is the roundabout answer - we don’t do anything other than send it to models via OpenRouter and get the response. OpenRouter T&C is important here and we don’t do anything like allow them to train on the data (you can do that for lower costs btw). We also only store what we store for chat history, and caching to speed things up - we’re just ‘an intelligent pipe’.
UPDATE: we’re using a more powerful model as customer support is a real pain when using cheaper ones. This means the free tier is more limited, but the responses are actually adequate (there’s a binary point where the model becomes nice and cheap but completely useless for analysis/planning). We’re now on the right side of that line!

Hi @Bigblob,
First of all, good call on moving to more powerful models — that’s the right direction and I appreciate it.
That said, I wanted to check in — it’s now been about 19 days since you mentioned you were planning to roll back the recent changes, but I’m still experiencing the same issues with workout creation that I reported before. As a developer myself, I’m genuinely curious: are you using version control? Because if so, an actual rollback should be fairly straightforward. It makes me wonder if the situation is more complex than it sounds, or if the rollback just hasn’t happened yet.
I also want to reiterate something I’ve mentioned before, because it still isn’t working for me: the Chat Actions popup. It’s too intrusive, appears too early, and blocks whatever I’m doing. More importantly, when I press Deny it doesn’t go away — there’s no way to clear it.
But the deeper issue is the philosophy behind it. I want the AI to help me, not get in my way. My ideal workflow is to check in, discuss my status, and then decide together what to do. The problem is the system seems to act on HRV or sleep data and immediately suggest skipping quality workouts — without asking. Sometimes my subjective feel is much better than what the sensors say, and I need to be able to have that conversation before any action is taken. The AI should facilitate that discussion, not short-circuit it by pushing suggestions at me.
I want to be clear: I appreciate what you’re building here, and I understand the constraints. But I felt I needed to say this directly rather than just quietly stop using it.
For now I’ve fallen back to my own DIY solution — ChatGPT/Codex with a bunch of markdown files for memory and context. It’s rough around the edges and I’m sure I’m missing things your integration handles, but for planning a full season it currently works better for me than fighting the AI and the intervals.icu integration. I’m kind of still using intervals.pro, but not as actively as before. I’ll be keeping an eye on it and happy to come back fully when things stabilise again.

Just wanted to say: good job! Seems like a tool that is very well developed. It’s easy to use and just work, no extra steps and “fluff”. Just what I want an AI assistant to be.

Great tool. Unfortunately for a couple of days i am not able to create workouts with intervals pro. They get rejected by intervals.icu. Also i am using the chatgpt plus Connection (i am not in any way an it specialist) and since a couple of days when using chatgpt project function i am not able to connect to intervals pro. Anyone having a similar experience or knows the solution?
Thanks everyone for the above. Sorry for absence from the forum here been working a bit more behind the scenes.
I understand workout creation frustrations. The planner and the UI there to help show what’s about to be pushed over to intervals.icu we feel is fairly critical. Version control - yes of course, but rollback is more significant when we are attempting to fix the feature in place and ensure it delivers the value we think it should.
Upcoming stuff:
- tool call error refunds - this should cost us, not you
- planning/creation tooling optimisations - loads to do here and loads left, but releasing quite often with changes here
- lots of analysis improvements - it’s super cool the variety of devices and sports people are doing, and also dizzying to keep up with - we’re fixing things as we find them (things like fit file format differing to what we expect and causing issues)
We’re working through as best we can and given people have probably seen the claude code codebase leak - we’re having to do a lot of ‘model constraint’ like they do - but cannot use quite as good models (or too expensive). So the challenge is real, but we’ll get there!
I just noticed the number of other AI systems on the forum wow, that’s crazy. I think I will stop posting here as it is kinda spammy and probably degrading the user experience of the forum and I don’t think very community spirited. Please use [email protected] if you want to contribute further to the discussion.

Hey everyone,
I’m currently trying to use Intervals Pro together with Intervals.icu, but the integration isn’t working smoothly for me.
The workouts are being created and synced, but there seems to be a consistent formatting issue. For example, instead of showing something like:
it only shows:
Because of that:
- The workout plot in Intervals.icu doesn’t render (which is already a bit annoying), and
- More importantly, Garmin doesn’t properly recognize the workout structure when syncing from Intervals.icu → Garmin Connect
This means I would have to manually edit every single session, which kind of defeats the purpose.
I’ve also tried multiple times to guide the AI in Intervals Pro and explicitly explain the formatting requirement, but it keeps producing the same issue.
Has anyone experienced something similar or found a workaround?
Would really appreciate any help
I’ve got an intervals ai pro subscription, but as of today, it isn’t replying. I’ve tried everything I can think of, deleting browser data and reinstalling, logging out and back in, but having no luck. Has anybody had this and have you fixed it?
Intervals.pro Chat is not working from yesterday evening (Europe time): it remains in “thinking” status without any answer.
Checking in operative system status it says that is all ok. I have a year subscription.
Thanks for the support.

I’m in Vancouver BC and it stopped working for me yesterday around 9am. I’ve sent email to support but haven’t heard back yet

By way of an update it’s working through Claude
Did you have to set that up or was it an update from Intervals P?
It’s all back up and running got the update.

Mine has been broken for the past four days and cannot see any data after 06/07. The answers on the website are also super glitchy and keep failing. On WhatsApp the messages send and reply fine but still nothing after 6 july

With regret intervals pro will close down. Garmin has put the final nail in our coffin! If you are a user, details will follow via email.
