I saw it’s possible from December onwards to import wellness data (sleep, RHR, weight, etc.) from Garmin to intervals.icu. I think this is a great feature and works well! However, I recently bought a Garmin Vivosmart 4, after using a Fitbit Inspire 2 for a while and I noticed that the sleep recordings on the Fitbit are way better.
The only reason not to start wearing my Fitbit again is intervals’s integration with Garmin Connect. Is it possible to also add Fitbit to the integrations? I looked through their API and it seems like the fields are there.
I have that on the todo list already. If you have an iPhone you might be able to get that data into Apple Health and then use the HeathFit app to get it into Intervals.icu.
Hi! I could be great to have this functionality. I have also a Fitbit and I can’t find any way to sync the HRV with intervals. How is this feature going?
Yes, but I think it is not going to happen, they are trending to release devices separately. Actually I’m exporting data with FitToFit data but it seems that there is no going to have any integration with HRV. And neither Google fit doesn’t let to upload HRV data.
It could be great at least to have HRV from fitbit here… I think having available the API exposed is not too hard.
Thanks for reaching out and for your kind words about the Garmin Connect integration! It’s great to hear you’re finding it useful for tracking your wellness data on intervals.icu.
While I can’t confirm anything for sure, I understand your frustration with the sleep tracking difference between the Vivosmart 4 and Inspire 2. Here’s some information about Fitbit integration on intervals.icu:
API potential: You’re right, the Fitbit API does seem to have the necessary fields for sleep data.
Development priorities: Unfortunately, adding Fitbit integration isn’t currently at the top of the development list. There are other features and integrations users have requested that take priority.
Community feedback: It’s valuable to hear your perspective! Sharing your experience with Fitbit sleep tracking and the desire for integration on the intervals.icu forum might help move it up the priority list.
Here are some options to consider:
Continue using Garmin: If the sleep tracking discrepancy isn’t a dealbreaker, you can consider sticking with the Vivosmart 4 for its intervals.icu integration. Perhaps over time, Garmin’s sleep tracking improves.
Dual tracking (temporary): As a temporary solution, you could wear both trackers for a while and compare sleep data. This can help you decide if the Fitbit’s sleep tracking is accurate enough to justify switching back.
Community development: There’s a chance a community developer might be interested in creating a Fitbit integration for intervals.icu. Discussing this on the forum could attract potential developers.
