How to sync a Zwift Ride to Garmin Connect to Intervals?

Is there a way to have Garmin Connect be the driver instead of Zwift/Strava?

Currently I do a Zwift workout, this syncs to Strava and Garmin Connect. Then Strava syncs to Intervals.icu.

I want Garmin Connect to be the main sender, so I tried turning Strava off for uploading new activities and then having Garmin Connect as the only app uploading into Intervals, but it doest pick up the Zwift ride.

Is it possible to somehow sync non recorded Garmin data (like zwift) into GC and have GC sync to intervals at all? Thnks

Yes. There is a way. But nothing simple.
Way

  1. RunGap
  2. breakaway
  3. manual upload
  • v1 download from Garmin. Delete the same workout. Reupload into Garmin (manually). Garmin will think this is ok to be fwd out
  • v2 download from zwift. Manual upload to intervals.

But why all the trouble? Just connect zwift to intervals and let zwift direct upload to intervals.

Thanks Nik,

Mostly because Garmin can send TE, VO2Max etc to Intervals which I plot on the Fitness graph, would like to have that for my indoor rides as well

Typically ppl like to have the distance / Elevation frm their Zwift rides into Intervals.

Having said that, are you dual recording? Ppl also dual record to get IQ Data from their headunits popolated as well (eg: CORE Sensors etc)

also, from what I can remember, (BreakAway: Indoor Training - Uploading Completed Workouts to Garmin Connect) Rides from Zwift, that gets loaded into Garmin will be sent into a Garmin HeadUnit / Watch etc (to calc Vo2Max, Load etc) which will then round-trip back to Garmin Connect.

you can verify this by looking at your wtach/headunit History. You can find your Zwift ride in there as well.

Zwift integrates directly to Intervals, so no need to download and manually upload. It was announced the day before Christmas.

Yes, but I dont get IQ fields populated like TE, Vo2Max etc. If it uploads from Garmin Connect it does so trying to see if I can automatically get this to work (instead of manual uploads)

I do not think that is possible, I have always understood that Garmin does not “forward” non-Garmin generated data.
