I use the healthfit application and work like a charm
As far as I know supporting Apple Health requires an app running on the device, there isn’t an “Apple Health cloud API” that I can just call. So it’s easier to rely on apps like HealthFit for this.
Apple Health only supports 1 type of HRV data and I think it’s SDNN. If you are able to get All the HRV data metrics from Google Fit or even the app that is making the HRV measurements, suggest that you continue doing the same.
I’m using HRV4Training to capture HRV data which in turn feeds into Apple Health which is synced to Intervals.icu using my BreakAway: Indoor Training app. HRV4Training do also support Syncing to DropBox but this is not automatic, (you have to manually export it each time, and intervals.icu can pick it up from Dropbox)
Apple Health does not have an API and the data AFAIK lies mainly within your Phone/Pad and there is fine grained control over the data and thus, an “app” is needed to do the querying and syncing.
Apps like HealthFit, GoogleFit, BreakAway: Indoor Training and possibly many more.
Thanks @david, @app4g and @Joao_Samora for your replies. After further reading in the forum and seen good reviews about HealthFit I switched to it. It does not upload data to intervals when it becomes available in Apple Health like Google Fit, only once a day, but it supports way more metrics.
This seems a bit ominous for the future integration of Google Fit…

Why anyone would start using a non-established Google product is beyond me.
Yes it seems Google Fit will be going away in favour of “only on the device” like Apple does it. Hopefully someone will write a “HealthFit for Android” that can push the data to Intervals.icu.
This probably explains why Google suddenly decided Intervals.icu didn’t have to complete a painful security audit to continue using Google Fit.
The Google Fit APIs were terribly painful to work with and didn’t keep any timezone information for measurements (!), not Google’s finest product.
I’m so glad that I abandoned google fit integration and I do agree, it was painful to work with (which was the main reason why I abandoned it)
I read that the google fit API will no longer be available from May 2025 and will move to health connection. Wouldn’t it be nice to already have the ability to have synchronization with Health connection?
Thanks
Moved your question here. You will find the answer in the above.
Essentially, intervals.icu can’t do anything.
Came to the forum to ask what the lagtime is from having something (Weight) in google fit to i.icu?
However I also saw the above: RE API closure. Do you know if this also relates to Fitbit?
Currently use Eufy smartscales to go to google and then intervals, the only other option is fitbit.
Not sure how many people are doing this but the current advice for getting data from fitbit is via google.
Missing activities from google fit
Very impressed by intervals (coming from GoldenCheetah, equally impressive), or convenience I am testing using FitBit for tracking exercise (HR pretty OK compared to chest-bands), but unfortunately it appears activities are not imported from google fit (health connects) even though it is present in the google fit app (coming from fitbit), sleep, HR and other are updated from google fit to intervals.
Any hope of getting activities included ? (or am i doing it wrong)
I hoped for all data in google health connect to be synchronized
See link from above…
Hopefully this is a minor request, but I recently switched from Garmin to a Fitbit + Polar Flow combo, but noticed that step count dropped off. It looks like the google fit sync doesn’t include steps, when I’m sure other apps that integrate with Fit can pull this information.
i’m gonna merge this into the google fit thread.
note that its unlikely to get this in given that Google Is sunsetting Google Fit
Thank you. Do you know if there’s plans to integrate Health Connect?
Isnt Health connect something like Apple Health? Someone needs to write an app that read the data locally from the phone and then sends out the data?
eg:
HealthFit Reads from Apple Health then sends the data to intervals.icu
I’m not sure if there’s a HealthFit (or equivalent) for Android
Ew. I think you’re right Обзор архитектуры платформы | Android health & fitness | Android Developers
I assumed it was a service like Google Fit.
+1 I’m recording weight using Withings and was using Google Fit to get the data in Intervals. This stopped working beginning 2024 and only investigated recently, and when talking to Withings they told me the API is shutting down and asked me to use Health Connect. None of historical data have been logged. So basically I’m looking for a way to get my weight data after each mesure, as well as the whole history. Thanks for any suggestion on this.
I input my weight to Garmin Connect. Check the Download Wellness Data option for Connect in intervals.icu settings to have it transferred. You can also edit which Wellness Fields you want brought into intervals.
