I know this browser based app from @dmarinov Auuki.com / Intervals.icu Integration
Here’s a small non-exhaustive list
For Android you Vin. In Play Store you can find it as Vin entrenos. It has interface in several languages.
Thank you, guys - will check them out.
Hard to find one which may replace TR, I like the Ant+ support and the Interval-Heart-Rate-Avg. However, ERG / Slope change in Auuki is much more comfy. We´ll see
There’s also MyWhoosh which is free at the moment. As it’s a Zwift substitute it’s a lot more than a trainer control app, but has plenty of workouts and, I imagine, the ability to import your own. But it’s a very “hungry” app that needs a pretty powerful gaming pc to run. And that’s not free!
I did not mention MyWoosh in the list because it isn’t fully integrated with Intervals. But it is for sure a nice app if you are looking for a Zwift alternative. And there have been some steps for integrating it with Intervals but MyWhoosh stopped putting in effort/time.
Indeed. I have no idea why MW software developers are constantly pushing such large updates on their program, and with some crazy “minimal requirements” in terms of graphics card, PCU, Direct X… bla bla bla.
Yes, tried MW some months ago but its not running properly on my system.
Crazy indeed! Who has 64 Gb of RAM? Minimum. The installer won’t even try if it thinks your kit won’t handle it. And if your setup used to work ok then updates that push up the minimum spec come through it might well give up. Poor design imo.
Indeed!
IC Trainer works well
Perhaps this is a bit out of scope, but if you have any technical/programming skills and have a Garmin computer, you can write a small program to either generate workouts yourself or scrape your favorites from trainerday, whatsonzwift etc. and generate .fit files to load into your computer to perform the workout.
@ogni65 Thanks, I will also check IC Trainer.
@JimVP programming skills … well … I did “Hello World” some time ago but I am sure your suggestion will exceed my “skills” by far
you can do that manually without any programming skills.
also, trainerday (and I guess most such apps) can send workouts to garmin, which requires even less skills than a manual upload. it’s already built into the app for you.
I use Trainerday (used TR in the past). It is a very solid training platform that offers ERG, SLOPE, and HR-based workouts. If you build a workout in Intervals.icu, you can export it as a ZWO file and import it to Trainerday.
Have not tried it on the Android/Win ecosystem yet.
GC does not support ERG & Slope in the same workout (like Auuki, Trainerroad etc). And as far as I read in the web the developers are not going to implement this feature.
I would recommend TrainerDay (already mentioned), also quite cheap if you buy it from the website (not from the App Store). Their workout editor is very handy.
As it seems, also Garmin does not support ERG / Slope switch - so s(h)ame as GC
Any app/software suite claiming to do ´everything´, is in most cases mediocre at doing anything.
Intervals is great at analysis, Auuki/Breakaway/Biketerra… are good at trainer control, HRV4Training/Elite/Kubios are good at HRV analysis, etc, etc.
If you are looking for one app/software doing great at everything, you will only get disappointed.
Look for apps doing great stuff at correct price point and, importantly, allow to transfer data in an open way. That aĺlows you to put it all together and get a straightforward overview.
